We have had a lot of rain recently and the fall colors are fading. I went out around the neighborhood this afternoon with the goal of getting a close up of a colorful leaf or nicely arranged leaves on the ground. All came out unremarkable. I grabbed this shot on my way home. I think it is about the last.
It was rainy and I was tied to this computer for most of the day. I did play a bit with Photoshop and Lightroom for this image of a wine bottle and glass.
It was a nice day for flying today. It was a tad hazy for spectacular photos, but not bad. The photo shows the northern part of the Catoctin range just west of Frederick, Maryland. I have developed the urge for a photography port on the window on the right side of the airplane. This is an unfortunate and expensive urge, but the old plastic windows do not allow good photographs and make all sorts of reflections.
It was a rainy day today, but the autumn bounty was evident. I took this photo with the little Canon SD-870. I am always impressed with the image quality of that little camera.
I had a chance to roam the Mall yesterday afternoon looking for more fall color. I had read somewhere that the trees around the Tidal Basin would be very colorful so I headed in that direction. They we still pretty dull, but I found this sugar maple near the WWII memorial. I have a few other shots here.
It was finally a nice sunny day here in Maryland and I had time to visit Seneca State Park looking for some fall colors.
I finally finished processing all of the photos from our cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas. They are posted in my Pbase galleries. I enjoyed photographing the interior of the ship. This one looks like a scene from the movie “Independence Day” or “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”
It has been cold and rainy here for the last couple of days. I was able to spend some time roaming the Mall in DC a couple of days ago, and the colors were almost at their peak.
I have finally finished a consulting project and can play again. I have put several galleries up of photos of our cruise. They are here. And, here is a photo of the Centrum on the Grandeur.
We have returned from our cruise, and a great time was had by all. The Grandeur was a very nice ship. It was rainy and foggy in Bar Harbor, St. Johns and Halifax, but that is to be expected. We walked and rolled around the waterfronts in the cities. We visited the new Institute of Contemporary Arts in Boston. Very impressive. Here are a couple of photos from the trip. I took about 1500 images and have a lot of sorting to do.
